UrbanStems, a flower company, has tapped into GoLocal for same-day delivery from its fulfillment centers in key cities, while The Home Depot relies on the service for the delivery of larger, bulkier items. These partnerships showcase GoLocal’s capability to adapt to various product sizes and delivery needs.
Competitive Edge and Rapid Growth
Rina Hurst, VP of Walmart GoLocal and former executive at Shipt, emphasizes the service’s growing edge over traditional ground shipping options like FedEx and UPS. Retailers are recognizing the benefits of alternative delivery routes that GoLocal offers. Since its inception in 2021, GoLocal has completed 12 million deliveries, a significant leap from the 1 million mark less than two years prior.

The addition of over 16,000 pickup points has not only contributed to the volume growth but also to the efficiency of the network. Walmart has been keen on reducing last-mile delivery costs, achieving more deliveries per route and thus optimizing costs.
