Mondelēz’s $1.2B Supply Chain Transformation

Mondelēz International, a leading food and snack company, has announced a multiyear transformation of its ERP system and supply chain.

The initiative, which is expected to cost $1.2 billion, aims to drive enterprise efficiencies, as revealed in the company’s Q2 2024 earnings statement.

The plan, approved by the board in July, will be implemented in several phases and is expected to be completed by 2028.

The company has partnered with SAP, Accenture, and o9 for the implementation.

“We believe that the preparation we have been doing for the last 18 months positions us well in terms of successful execution,” said Mondelēz CFO Luca Zaramella.

The company has made efforts to minimize potential issues that could arise during the transformation.

Leadership Transition Amid Technological Upgrades

The announcement of this major technological upgrade comes during a period of tech leadership transition at Mondelēz.

In July, the company appointed Filippo Catalano as its Chief Information and Digital Officer, replacing Javier Polit.

However, the company has not disclosed any information regarding Catalano’s role in the ERP project.

Upon his appointment, Mondelēz tasked Catalano with accelerating the global technology transformation later this year.
